underworld don (now in dubai) tried to murder PML-N MPA Bilal Yasin in lahore

A police official said this development surfaced when the police arrested a local weapon dealer and a suspect who was given the pistol which was used in the attack.

LAHORE: The police have got some important clues to the involvement of a notorious underworld don of Lahore in the murderous attack on Bilal Yasin, a PML-N MPA.

Police officials said the don was living in Dubai these days and he managed the attack through his hirelings.

A police official said this development surfaced when the police arrested a local weapon dealer and a suspect who was given the pistol which was used in the attack. He said the police would soon seek extradition of the don, involved in murderous attack on MPA Bilal Yasin, Dawn.com reported today quoting police sources.

PML-N MPA Bilal Yasin was shot at and injured on Friday near his home in Lahore and the attackers fled on motorbike. Eyewitnesses informed the police that after injuring the MPA, the attackers left the scene and returned again but the bullet got stuck in the chamber of the pistol.

He said they fled the scene when some locals gathered at the crime scene. A police official said the police found a pistol on the street that was used by the suspects in the attack. Lahore police has sent the pistol for forensic analysis.

Meanwhile, doctors said Bilal Yasin would be shifted from the intensive care unit to a private room as his health was improving fast after two successful surgeries at the Mayo Hospital.

Medical Superintendent Dr Iftikhar Ahmad said MPA Bilal Yasin was recovering fast following the timely surgeries when he was shifted to the hospital with three bullet wounds.

He said the doctors removed two bullets from his body – one from the abdomen and another from his leg – during operations.

Fortunately, the bullets left no harm on any organ and the doctors declared his life out of danger on Sunday. Meanwhile, many PML-N and PPP leaders have inquired about his health and wished him speedy recovery.
