ISLAMABAD: At least 67 Afghan Taliban militants were killed and several others were injured on Tuesday after Pakistani security forces repelled coordinated attacks across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar confirmed the losses while providing an update on Operation Ghazb lil Haq.
According to the minister, militants launched assaults at 16 locations in northern Balochistan, including Qilla Saifullah, Noshki, and Chaman. They also carried out fire raids at 25 additional sites.
However, security forces effectively repulsed all attacks. As a result, 27 militants were killed in Balochistan, while several others sustained injuries. During the clashes, one soldier of Frontier Corps Balochistan North embraced martyrdom and five others were injured.
Operation Ghazb lil Haq Expands in KP
Meanwhile, militants attacked one location in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and conducted fire raids at 12 different sites. Security forces responded swiftly and neutralised the threat without suffering casualties. Furthermore, overnight operations in the province resulted in the killing of 40 Afghan Taliban fighters.
Tarar stated that follow-up operations remain underway and authorities will release a detailed briefing later. Pakistanโs armed forces launched Operation Ghazb lil Haq in response to unprovoked cross-border attacks by the Afghan Taliban. The operation, initiated on February 27, 2026, involves coordinated air and ground strikes targeting militant positions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Officials have vowed to continue the campaign until they achieve all objectives. They also stressed that forces will ensure civilian safety while defending national sovereignty.
