JIT Summons 16 PTI Members again Over Alleged Anti-State Propaganda

ISLAMABAD: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has once again summoned 16 members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over their alleged involvement in spreading negative propaganda against the state.

The JIT has issued notices directing individuals to appear before the team on March 18, 2025. Among those summoned are prominent PTI figures, including Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Mohammad Khalid Khurshid Khan, Mian Mohammad Aslam Iqbal, and Hammad Azhar. Others who received summons include Aoun Abbas, Mohammad Shahbaz Shabbir, Waqas Akram, and Taimur Saleem Khan.

Notices were also sent to Sibghatullah Virk, Azhar Mishwani, Mohammad Nouman Afzal, Jabran Elias, Salman Raza, Zulfi Bukhari, Musa Virk, and Ali Malik.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, along with Raoof Hassan and Shah Farman, had already appeared before the JIT. However, on March 14, 2025, PTI founder’s sister, Aleema Khan, failed to appear despite being summoned. Consequently, the JIT has now issued another summons for Aliya Khan, requiring her to appear on March 19, 2025.

The investigation, based on collected evidence, aims to determine the extent of these individuals’ involvement in alleged anti-state propaganda. The notices also include a directive for them to clarify their positions regarding the accusations.

The JIT was established under notification F.No.8/9/2024-FIA/ in accordance with Section 30 of the Electronic Crimes Prevention Act 2016. The probe is being led by Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi.
