Young shooters outperform Olympians and senior competitors

KARACHI: The 32nd National Shooting Championship concluded with young shooters outperforming Olympians and senior competitors.

Host Pakistan Navy claimed the title, while Pakistan Army, unable to defend their title, settled for second place, and PAF secured third.

The seven-day championship, organized by the National Rifle Association of Pakistan at the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range in Karsaz, featured over 500 male and female shooters from 11 teams, including the three armed forces and four provinces.

PN’s Maqbool Hussain took home five gold medals, earning him the title of best shooter.

Meanwhile, Rasam Gul, also from PN, won four gold medals, becoming the best female shooter. Other notable performers included Lieutenant Poon Singh, a Sikh shooter from Pakistan Navy, who won a bronze medal in the 9mm big bore rapid fire event.
