WhatsApp is set to introduce a new feature that will greatly improve the flexibility of content forwarding, allowing users to add personalized messages when sharing forwarded content. This feature, which will be part of a future update, will enable users to attach a custom note or explanation to any type of forwarded content, making the app more versatile.
As reported by WABetaInfo, the feature will allow users to add a new message after forwarding content, whether it be text, images, videos, GIFs, documents, or links. Currently, this functionality is available to beta testers using the latest WhatsApp beta update (version 2.24.25.3) for Android, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
Previously, WhatsApp’s forwarding feature was restricted to media files such as images, videos, and GIFs, regardless of whether the media had a caption. With the upcoming update, users will be able to add context or explanations to any forwarded content, including simple text messages and links, without any hassle.
For example, when forwarding a text message, users can now include an additional comment or clarification to ensure the recipient understands the context. This feature will also allow users to forward news articles or links with their own thoughts or summaries, eliminating the need for a separate follow-up message.
The update is especially beneficial when sending documents or links that might require additional information or instructions to avoid confusion and ensure clear communication among recipients.
