Islamabad Flights Cancelled Amid Ongoing PTI Protests

Islamabad Flights

Five flights to Islamabad have been canceled as a result of the ongoing PTI protests and the government’s decision to implement road closures aimed at curbing the demonstrations.

These cancellations are part of a broader disruption to air travel caused by the escalating unrest in the city.

According to the latest flight schedules, the cancellations affect several Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights.

Specifically, PIA flights PK326 from Karachi to Islamabad, PK310 from Quetta to Islamabad, and PK369 from Karachi to Islamabad have all been affected. These cancellations have caused inconvenience to passengers traveling to the capital from key cities.

In addition to the PIA flights, two special flights, RJ71 and RJ72, which operate between Dubai, Islamabad, and Oman, have also been canceled. The cancellations of these international flights further exacerbate the situation, affecting both local and foreign travelers.

Beyond the cancellations, the ongoing protests and subsequent government measures have also led to significant delays in flight operations.

A total of 28 other flights, operated by various airlines, have been delayed, with operational reasons cited as the primary cause.

These delays are believed to be linked to the road closures imposed by the government to prevent the protests from escalating further.

The closures have created significant logistical challenges for both airlines and passengers, further compounding the disruption to travel schedules.

The combination of flight cancellations and delays has created a chaotic situation at Islamabad’s main airport, as passengers struggle to find alternative routes or adjust their travel plans.

The protests, which have led to widespread security measures, continue to disrupt daily life in the capital, with the government taking a firm stance on preventing the demonstrations from spreading.

With both air and ground travel severely impacted, the situation remains fluid, and further disruptions are expected as the protests continue to unfold.
