Schools in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to Stay Closed for Another Day

Due to the ongoing law and order situation in the capital, all government and private educational institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain closed on Tuesday. The district administration confirmed the decision, citing continued road blockages and public safety concerns.

Private schools in Islamabad had already announced a holiday for Tuesday, while the district administration extended the closure to all schools in the capital, both public and private. A formal notification has been issued to this effect.

Abrar Ahmad Khan, President of the All Pakistan Private Schools Association (North Punjab), confirmed the closure, adding that private schools in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi would remain closed due to the current situation. He also urged the Punjab education boards to reassess the schedule for upcoming matriculation examinations in light of the ongoing disruptions, which he said were significantly affecting students’ study routines.

The district administration emphasized that no decision on reopening schools had been made yet, as the situation remains fluid with continued road blockages. The safety of students and staff remains a primary concern for authorities.

Additionally, the district administration of Murree also announced that all government and private schools would remain closed on Tuesday due to the law and order situation. Following the protests led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), authorities in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Murree have taken measures to ensure safety, leading to the closure of educational institutions across the region.
