Government declares September 17 a public holiday

The federal government has officially announced that September 17 will be observed as a public holiday. This holiday has been declared to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which falls on 12 Rabi ul Awwal in the Islamic calendar.

As a result of this declaration, all public and private institutions across the country will be closed on this day. This includes schools, colleges, as well as government and semi-government offices.

The decision aims to provide citizens with an opportunity to participate in celebrations and activities associated with the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a significant event in the Islamic faith.

The public holiday will ensure that individuals and families can come together to mark this auspicious occasion without the usual constraints of work or academic responsibilities.

The government’s announcement underscores the importance of the day and allows for widespread participation in the festivities and religious observances.

The closure of institutions will also extend to various private sector offices, reflecting the broad scope of the holiday’s impact. This comprehensive approach to the holiday aims to facilitate a unified and inclusive celebration across the nation, allowing everyone to partake in the cultural and spiritual significance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

By designating September 17 as a public holiday, the government emphasizes its commitment to honoring important religious and cultural traditions, providing a day of respite for reflection and celebration for all citizens.
