Islamabad Administration Approves NOC for PTI’s September 8 Rally

Islamabad Administration Grants NOC for PTI’s September 8 Rally with 41 Conditions

The Islamabad district administration has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for their rally on September 8, imposing 41 specific conditions.

According to the notification released on Thursday, a detailed route plan has been provided for attendees traveling via motorway from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. The rally is set to be held at the open grounds of GT Road Singhu Jai, beginning at 4 pm and concluding by 7 pm. The administration has stipulated that anti-state speeches or slogans will not be allowed, and the permit is only valid for September 8, requiring participants to return that night.

The district administration mandates that the organizers manage internal security for the event and prohibits any speech or slogans against the state. Separate route maps have been issued for attendees coming from KP and Punjab via the motorway, as well as distinct routes for those traveling from GT Road, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Murree.

PTI rescheduled the rally to September 8 after canceling their August 22 event, citing concerns over “a government conspiracy to spread chaos.” Imran Khan later explained the postponement was due to fears of potential unrest. Some ministers had reportedly facilitated a meeting between Khan and others on the morning of August 22.

PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hassan stated to Voice of America Urdu that the rally will proceed regardless of permit status. “The rally on September 8 will take place whether permission is granted or not,” Hassan affirmed.
