Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Jr. Appeals for Medicine Donations Amidst Heavy Rains in Dadu

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Jr. has issued a heartfelt appeal for medicine donations on behalf of his Bhulan Bachao Foundation, as heavy rains continue to devastate the Dadu region.

In an urgent Instagram post, Bhutto highlighted the severe impact of the ongoing rains on Dadu, which has exacerbated the suffering from last year’s floods. He has shared a list of essential medicines that are urgently needed and encouraged everyone to contribute to the relief effort.

“The more the merrier,” Bhutto emphasized in his post. “Medicines are listed in the next slides. We need them by September 2. The rains have caused significant distress in Dadu, and our outreach program needs an extra push. Please HELP!”

Bhutto noted that his team is focused on immediate relief efforts and asked people to drop off the requested items at his home in Karachi, located at 70 Clifton. “We don’t need your money, we need medicines,” he stressed. “Due to the torrential rains, our Bhulan camps are relocating to Dadu, which was severely affected during last year’s floods. Please donate whatever you can before September 2. This is an emergency situation, and we need your help,” he added.

The heavy rains have inundated 100 villages in Dadu, Sehwan, and Manjhand talukas, especially in the kacha area along the Indus River. Recent rainfall has further impacted 50 villages in Dadu district, including Moundar, KT Jatoi, Jhaloo, Purano Deero, and Amniani; 40 villages in Sehwan taluka; and 10 villages in Jamshoro district.

The Bhulan Bachao Foundation, founded by Bhutto, his sister Fatima, and their friend Menaal Munshey last August, is named after the Indus River Dolphin, which is also the foundation’s mascot. It is recognized as Sindh’s first locally initiated wildlife foundation, focusing on integrating humanitarian and environmental conservation efforts.

The foundation’s mission includes operationalizing and implementing pro-nature and pro-people laws, preserving cultural and biological diversity, and revitalizing indigenous visual cultures and crafts. Additionally, they are dedicated to disaster relief and preparedness, employing a solution-oriented approach to support effective interventions during crises.

This appeal follows the Bhulan Bachao Foundation’s previous efforts, such as the Indus Relief initiative formed during the 2022 floods, which raised funds through unique experiences to aid flood victims.
