The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reported that since the Israel-Hamas war started on October 7, at least 42 journalists and media workers have been killed, making it the deadliest conflict for journalists since the CPJ began collecting data in 1992.

As of Monday, the confirmed casualties include 37 Palestinians, four Israelis, and one Lebanese. Additionally, nine journalists were reported injured, three missing, and thirteen arrested.
Journalists covering the war have faced various challenges, including assaults, threats, cyberattacks, censorship, and even the killing of family members.
Sherif Mansour, the CPJ’s Middle East and North Africa program coordinator, highlighted the significant sacrifices made by journalists in the region, particularly in Gaza, where they face unprecedented threats and tolls.
Many have lost colleagues, families, and media facilities, and some have sought safety with no secure havens or exits available.
PCB Ousts Entire Selection Committee Following World Cup Disappointment
Meanwhile, theย Pakistan Cricket Boardย (PCB) responded decisively to the national teamโs lackluster performance in the ICC World Cup 2023 by dismissing the entire selection committee on Tuesday.
The move, orchestrated by PCB management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf, saw the removal of Tauseef Ahmed, Wajahatullah Wasti, and Wasim Haider from their positions. In response to the shake-up, the PCB is anticipated to unveil a new selection committee within the next 48 hours, with the likelihood of a chief selector being chosen from a pool of former cricketers.
This overhaul follows the earlier resignations of Inzamamul Haq and Morne Morkel from their roles as chief selector and bowling coach, respectively.
The restructuring aims to inject fresh perspectives and strategies into the selection process, aiming for a rejuvenated team performance in future competitions. During a meeting with Ashraf, prominent former cricketers, including Mohammad Hafeez, Sohail Tanvir, and Wahab Riaz, engaged in discussions that centered on matters related to the selection committee.
