13 Terrorists Killed in Shaban Operation
Security forces launched a clearance operation in Shaban, Quetta district, on September 21.
The operation followed intelligence reports about multiple terrorist hideouts in the area. According to ISPR, the hideouts posed a threat to the local population.
“In order to safeguard the local populace and clear the area of terrorists, security forces have been conducting a clearance operation in the general area of Shaban, District Quetta, since 21 September 2026,” said ISPR.
Troops engaged the militants and cleared multiple hideouts during intense exchanges of fire. As a result, 13 terrorists were killed in the operation, according to the military.
Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the cleared hideouts. However, the clearance operation will continue until the threat is completely neutralised.
Six More Terrorists Killed in Kech, Quetta West
Security forces conducted separate intelligence-based operations in Kech and Quetta West on September 22 and 23.
During the engagements, troops exchanged fire with terrorists in the two districts. Consequently, six more terrorists were killed, according to ISPR.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during these operations.
The latest operations bring the reported number of terrorists killed in Balochistan to 19. The military said the operations were conducted to counter threats identified through intelligence.
Subedar Muhammad Jamil Embraces Martyrdom
During one of the exchanges of fire, Subedar Muhammad Jamil lost his life while serving in the line of duty.
The military’s media wing said the 39-year-old embraced martyrdom during the operation.
His death came as security forces continued engagements against militants in different parts of Balochistan.
Security Operations Continue Across Balochistan
ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue at full pace.
The campaign was approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. According to the military, security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to countering foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
The latest operations come amid continued violence in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. CRSS data for the second quarter of 2026 identified both provinces as the country’s main violence hotspots.
The report recorded 774 violence-linked fatalities nationwide during the quarter. KP accounted for 475 fatalities, while Balochistan recorded 265 deaths.
Together, the two provinces accounted for almost 96% of violence-linked fatalities during the period. KP recorded 151 violent incidents, while Balochistan reported 94 cases.
The latest Balochistan operations add another significant development to the province’s ongoing security situation. Meanwhile, authorities say counter-terrorism operations will continue as forces work to address identified militant threats.
