The Pakistan Navy successfully rescued 19 fishermen after their fishing vessel became stranded in the North Arabian Sea following an engine failure.
The operation was carried out after the vessel lost power nearly 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar. As a result, all crew members were brought to safety despite difficult weather conditions.
The rescue highlighted the Navy’s rapid response to a maritime emergency and ensured the safe recovery of everyone on board.
Fishing Vessel Stranded After Engine Failure
According to the Pakistan Navy, the fishing vessel AL JALALI became stranded after suffering an engine failure in the North Arabian Sea.
The vessel was located around 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar when the emergency occurred. Consequently, a search and rescue operation was launched to assist the crew.
The operation was coordinated through the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), allowing rescue teams to respond quickly.
All 19 Crew Members Rescued Safely
The rescue operation ensured the safety of all 19 fishermen aboard the vessel.
The crew included 11 Pakistani fishermen and eight Iranian nationals. Fortunately, every crew member was rescued without any reported casualties.
The successful operation prevented the situation from worsening amid challenging conditions at sea.
PNS TAIMUR Provides Emergency Assistance
During the rescue mission, PNS TAIMUR reached the stranded vessel and provided immediate humanitarian assistance.
The crew received food, drinking water and medical support before further rescue measures began.
After ensuring the fishermen’s safety, PNS TAIMUR towed the vessel towards the shore.
Despite adverse monsoon conditions in the North Arabian Sea, the operation was completed successfully.

The rescue operation demonstrated the Pakistan Navy’s ability to respond promptly to emergencies at sea.
By coordinating the mission through the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre, rescue teams were able to reach the stranded fishermen without delay.
