Fourteen Pakistani crew members aboard a detained ship at Yemen’s port urged the government for immediate diplomatic intervention to ensure their safe return.
The MT DORIN arrived at Aden port on July 30, according to documents reviewed in connection with the case. Yemeni Port State Control detained the vessel on August 6, the documents stated.
The 14 Pakistani crew members are currently staying at Aden Anchorage along with the ship’s other crew members. The Pakistani nationals boarded the MT DORIN at Djibouti port on April 14, 2026.
According to sources, Yemeni authorities detained the ship over alleged irregularities involving its flag documents.
However, the Pakistani crew members denied any involvement with the disputed documents.
They said the matter concerning the vessel involved its owners, operating company and Yemeni authorities.
The documents show that 23 people are currently aboard the MT DORIN.
The crew comprises 14 Pakistani nationals, eight Indians and one Bangladeshi national.
The Pakistani crew members have requested immediate government assistance to facilitate their return home.
They have urged authorities to use diplomatic channels to resolve the matter and secure their repatriation.
Meanwhile, the crew members remain at Aden Anchorage as the dispute surrounding the vessel continues.
The sailors have maintained that they were not responsible for the alleged documentation issue and should not face delays in returning to Pakistan.
