Taylor Swift has reached a major career milestone after spending a cumulative 100 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart, becoming the first solo artist to achieve the feat.
Her album The Life of a Showgirl returned to No. 1 for its 14th non-consecutive week, pushing Swift past the 100-week mark across her career. According to reports published on October 12, 2026, only The Beatles have spent more weeks at the top, with 132 weeks in total.
The Life of a Showgirl Returns to No. 1
Swift’s latest achievement follows the release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded edition of her 2025 album that arrived on September 25.
The updated release features four additional songs. Billboard combined its sales figures with those of the original album when calculating its chart position.
The album recorded 93,000 equivalent album units in the United States for the week ending October 8, according to Luminate data. Although the figure represented a 46 per cent decline from the previous week, it was enough to keep Swift at the top.
Drake’s album ranked second with 71,000 equivalent units, while Olivia Rodrigo placed third with 66,000.
Swift Joins an Elite Group of Chart Leaders
With 100 weeks at No. 1, Swift has become the second act overall to reach the milestone. The Beatles remain ahead with 132 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200. Swift achieved the record through 15 albums that reached the chart’s summit, including Fearless, 1989, Folklore, Midnights and The Tortured Poets Department.
Her latest success adds another milestone to a career marked by commercial achievements and sustained album sales.
The Beatles Return to the Top 10
The latest chart also brought renewed attention to The Beatles’ 1965 album Rubber Soul, which returned to the top 10 with 58,000 equivalent album units. The album’s reappearance followed the release of collector editions and remastered versions. It had last appeared in the top 10 in April 1966.
Meanwhile, Mac Miller’s The Divine Feminine returned to the top 10 at No. 10 following its tenth-anniversary edition.
How Billboard 200 Measures Album Popularity
The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the United States each week. Its rankings combine traditional album sales, track-equivalent album units and streaming-equivalent album units. This system allows the chart to reflect listening habits across physical purchases, digital downloads and streaming platforms.
Swift’s 100-week achievement highlights the continued commercial reach of her music, while the latest chart also demonstrates how reissues and special editions can bring older albums back into the spotlight.
