Zendaya has officially welcomed her 30s with a nostalgic look back at childhood and a heartfelt message for her fans. The actress celebrated her milestone birthday on Tuesday, September 1, while reflecting on her final year of her twenties.
The Challengers star shared a childhood photo on Instagram and thanked fans for making the past year especially memorable.
“I can’t thank ya’ll enough for making the last year of my twenties so beautiful, I have so much to be grateful for and so much to look forward to, with love as always….here’s to 30!!!!!” she wrote.
Zendaya’s mother shares childhood throwback
Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer, 62, also marked the occasion with a sweet throwback photo of her daughter.
“Happy 30th birthday to the love and light of my life!! Even tho you’re not on socials anymore, and you won’t see this!!” Stoermer wrote.
She then added a playful update about their close relationship.
“we just got off facetime!!”
Zendaya has frequently spoken about the influence her mother had on her life. Stoermer previously worked as a teacher in Oakland, California, where she helped shape Zendaya’s views on education and hard work.
“Growing up, I watched my mom teach in the heart of Oakland, Calif., at inner-city schools that were always underfunded,” Zendaya told Teen Vogue in 2016.
Zendaya has several major projects ahead
Despite reaching a major birthday milestone, Zendaya shows no signs of slowing down professionally. The actress has another busy year ahead with several high-profile projects.
She is returning for Euphoria Season 3 and will also star in The Drama. Additionally, she appears as Athena in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
Zendaya will also reprise her role as MJ in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, alongside Tom Holland. Holland, who is Zendaya’s co-star, also turns 30 this year.
Her upcoming schedule does not end there. Dune: Part Three is scheduled to arrive on December 18.
