Zayn Malik delivered disappointing news to his fans by cancelling all upcoming US shows on his 2026 tour. The former One Direction member made this decision after he spent time in the hospital last month with an undisclosed illness.
The singer released his latest album Konnakol on April 17 and had planned an extensive tour to promote it. However, health concerns forced him to rethink his busy schedule. In a heartfelt Instagram message, Zayn told followers that he feels much better now while recovering at home. Still, doctors advised him to ease his workload so he can deliver strong performances without risking his well-being.
Fans Receive Mixed Updates on Tour Plans
While Zayn scrapped the entire American leg of the tour, some international dates remain intact. Supporters in parts of the UK and Mexico will still get to see him perform later this month. Unfortunately, fans in Dublin and Birmingham also lost their scheduled shows.
Industry observers suggest that soft ticket sales for the US stadium dates, visible on Ticketmaster maps, may have influenced the final call alongside his health issues. Zayn enjoyed great success with his Las Vegas residency earlier this year, but the larger tour faced different challenges.
Star Focuses on Recovery and Gratitude
Zayn has kept a low profile since he first shared news of his hospitalisation. The mystery illness already caused him to miss an album listening party and a Q&A session in Kingston on April 13. At that time, he expressed deep sadness about letting fans down and thanked the hospital staff for their care.
His family stepped in to manage the fan response. They asked supporters to stop sending flowers to a local shop that became overwhelmed and instead encouraged donations to the Palestine Project charity. Zayn’s cousin Sasha clarified that many flowers actually related to a separate Ramadan fundraiser, yet the family feels touched by the love and support.
This health scare adds to the challenges Zayn has faced since leaving One Direction in 2015. The star, who often speaks about the pressures of fame, now focuses on getting stronger. He looks forward to connecting with as many fans as possible on his adjusted schedule.
