President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday reviewed the progress of cooperation initiatives between the Sindh government and Chinese companies. He directed officials to expedite agreed projects and complete all remaining procedural and technical requirements without delay.
The president issued the instructions during a meeting with delegations from Anhui Nengtong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Luoyang Modern Biology Group at the Chief Minister House. The meeting was facilitated by the China-Pakistan-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Association.
Officials reviewed the implementation of previously signed Memoranda of Understanding and assessed progress across several cooperation areas. They also discussed measures to accelerate the execution of ongoing projects.
Cooperation Expands Across Multiple Sectors
The president received a briefing on developments in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, veterinary biological vaccines, and animal identification systems. Officials also shared updates on agricultural technology, healthcare, fire safety equipment, and other sectors.
Zardari reaffirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating Chinese businesses and investors operating in Pakistan. Moreover, he said stronger economic cooperation remained a national priority.
He emphasised that Pakistan highly values its All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China. Therefore, the government remains committed to expanding collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
CPEC 2.0 Focuses on Future Development
The president noted that CPEC 2.0 has entered a new phase focused on deeper economic cooperation. He said the initiative would create fresh opportunities for investment and infrastructure development.
Zardari highlighted Karachi and Hyderabad as key locations for expanding electric vehicle infrastructure. Furthermore, he said the Karachi-Hyderabad M-9 corridor could become the starting point for intercity EV charging facilities.
He expressed confidence that faster implementation of joint projects would strengthen bilateral ties. Additionally, he said greater Chinese investment would support Pakistan’s long-term economic growth.
