Pakistani AI filmmaker Zahid Iqbal has reached a major digital milestone as his fantasy film The Mother’s Monster reportedly crosses 50 million YouTube views.
The 28-minute film has brought wider attention to the Layyah-based creator and his approach to AI-powered filmmaking. Iqbal used AI-generated visuals and synthetic voices to create the film’s fantasy world.
The Mother’s Monster premiered on the MYTHRA YouTube channel on September 14, 2026. Iqbal is credited with writing the story and screenplay while also directing the project.
Mother Protects Her Mysterious Child
Set in a snowy mountain village, the film follows a woman who gives birth to a mysterious dragon-like creature. While villagers consider the creature a monster and react with fear, the mother chooses to protect her unusual child.
The story explores themes of love, sacrifice, fear and acceptance through the mother’s relationship with the creature. Meanwhile, the villagers’ reaction creates the central conflict throughout the fantasy tale.
The film’s rapid rise has also highlighted how artificial intelligence can help independent creators produce cinematic stories. AI-generated imagery and synthetic voices allowed Iqbal to build the fictional setting without relying entirely on traditional filmmaking methods.
Film Sparks Questions About Budget, Earnings
Some reports have claimed that the film was produced for around $2,000. However, Iqbal has not independently confirmed the figure through a primary source, making the reported budget an estimate.
Similarly, social media users have speculated that the film generated around Rs50 million from YouTube. That revenue figure has not been independently verified and should therefore not be treated as confirmed earnings.
Meanwhile, Iqbal’s MYTHRA channel has reportedly crossed 100,000 subscribers. The milestone adds to the growing attention surrounding the filmmaker and his AI-driven fantasy project.
