A 24-year-old man was killed when his 19-year-old friend allegedly attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon on a moving motorcycle in Khanewal on Saturday.
According to police, the victim, identified as Salman, was travelling with his friend Hassan Niazi when the alleged attack took place. The accused reportedly fled the scene shortly after the incident.
Rescue 1122 personnel reached the location and shifted Salman’s body to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khanewal.
Police Collect Evidence From Crime Scene
A team from Kahna Police Station reached the scene after receiving information about the incident. Officials collected evidence from the location as part of the initial investigation.
Police registered a case against the suspect and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing. Authorities are also searching for the accused following his reported escape.
The motive behind the alleged attack has not been disclosed so far. Police are expected to investigate the relationship between the two young men and circumstances leading to the incident.
Earlier Killing Reported In Khanewal
The latest incident comes after another reported killing in Khanewal in August 2026. A 15-year-old boy was allegedly strangled under mysterious circumstances in Bakhtiyari Garden on the outskirts of the city.
Police said they solved that case within hours and arrested a suspect. The latest killing has prompted another investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the fatal attack.
