Bespoke Trunk to Carry Footballโs Biggest Prize
The FIFA World Cup trophy will arrive at the New York-New Jersey stadium inside a specially designed Louis Vuitton trunk.
The French luxury house has created the case to transport and present footballโs most prestigious prize before the 2026 World Cup final.
The trunk combines Louis Vuittonโs traditional craftsmanship with symbols linked to victory and the global importance of the tournament.
Its exterior features the companyโs signature monogram pattern. A large golden โVโ appears across the front, representing both โVictoryโ and โVuitton.โ
Gold-plated brass protectors cover the corners. The design is intended to protect the trophy while creating a dramatic presentation when the case is opened inside the stadium.
Gold Details and Leather Interior Define the Design
The interior of the trunk is lined with light beige leather. It also includes a special patch celebrating the partnership between FIFA and Louis Vuitton.
The case was made to fit the shape and dimensions of the World Cup trophy. It allows the prize to remain secure during transportation while also functioning as a display case.
Louis Vuitton Chairman and Chief Executive Pietro Beccari said the company and FIFA share a commitment to excellence and believe sport can inspire and unite people.
The company views the trophy trunk as more than protective luggage. It represents the moment when craftsmanship, sporting achievement and the dreams of football supporters come together.
The 2026 design was produced through the specialist trunk-making tradition that has remained central to Louis Vuitton since the company was founded in the nineteenth century.
Fifth Consecutive World Cup Partnership
This is the fifth consecutive World Cup for which Louis Vuitton has produced the trophyโs official travel trunk.
The partnership began at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The fashion house later designed cases for the 2014 tournament in Brazil, the 2018 edition in Russia and the 2022 competition in Qatar.
The latest trunk continues that tradition at the 2026 tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Outside major tournaments, the original World Cup trophy is generally kept at the FIFA Museum in Zurich. Its limited public movement makes the design of its official carrying case a major honour for any luxury company.
Louis Vuitton has also expanded its presence across other international sports. The company produces custom trophy trunks for Formula One races and has designed cases for tennis, basketball and other major competitions.
Luxury brands have increasingly become part of high-profile sporting events. Tiffany & Co., for example, has produced the Vince Lombardi Trophy awarded to the Super Bowl champion since the first edition in 1967.
For Louis Vuitton, the World Cup assignment remains especially significant because only one original trophy is presented to the winning national team every four years.
The custom trunk will carry the trophy into the stadium before it is presented to the 2026 world champions, combining football history with one of fashionโs most recognisable luxury brands.
