BHAKKAR/ISLAMABAD: A conductor of a private bus raped a young woman in the during her travel from Bhakkar to Karachi. Jampur police have registered a rape case against the conductor and arrested him on the complaint of rape victim.
According to the FIR, a female resident of Bhakkar district was travelling to Karachi by the bus of Adil Shah Company. The bus was stopped at a hotel for passengers’ refreshments while the woman was sleeping at that time and all the other passengers got off the bus. The conductor found the woman alone in the bus and raped her.
After receiving a call on the emergency 15, Jampur police reached the crime scene, near Jampur where Karach-bound buses stopped to have a short stay. Police inspected the bus, recorded statements of the woman as well as eyewitnesses. Police arrested the suspect who was later identified as a resident of Muzaffargarh and registered a rape case against him.
A few weeks ago, a woman was also raped in a running train by three employees of a privatised train, who were later identified with the help of cameras and taken into custody by police.
