Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan surprised fans after appearing behind bulletproof glass outside his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, following reported security threats.
The 84-year-old actor continued his traditional Sunday gathering on November 1, 2026. However, additional security arrangements made this appearance noticeably different.
Videos circulating on social media showed Bachchan waving to admirers from inside a transparent protective enclosure.
Why Was Bulletproof Glass Installed at Jalsa?
The security measures followed reports of a threatening email sent to Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde.
The message allegedly warned of possible bomb attacks targeting several locations, including Bachchan’s residence.
Other locations reportedly mentioned were the mayor’s office and singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert venue.
The email reportedly identified October 31 to November 27 as a potential attack period.
Following the warning, security agencies increased surveillance around the affected locations.
Abhishek Bachchan Stays Close to His Father
Actor Abhishek Bachchan accompanied his father during the Sunday appearance.
He remained close to security personnel and appeared attentive as the veteran superstar greeted the crowd.
Barricades and additional protective arrangements were also visible outside Jalsa.
Tiger Shroff Shooting Raises Bollywood Security Concerns
The heightened precautions followed a recent shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
Reports suggested that suspects had also examined security arrangements near other celebrities’ residences.
However, authorities have not confirmed whether the protective enclosure was installed following an official recommendation.
Despite growing security concerns, Bachchan maintained his longstanding weekly tradition.
His decision allowed fans to see their favorite superstar while additional precautions remained in place.
