Pakistani film actor Moammar Rana’s wife, Mehnaz, has obtained a divorce through a Lahore family court, ending their nearly 28-year marriage following allegations of domestic abuse and financial neglect.
The development was reported on Saturday, October 31, 2026, after Family Court Judge Zahid Bashir granted a divorce decree in favour of Mehnaz.
Mehnaz Accuses Moammar Rana of Domestic Abuse
According to court documents, Mehnaz alleged that her husband subjected her to physical abuse and verbal mistreatment, particularly after consuming alcohol.
She claimed that he repeatedly used abusive language in front of their daughters, causing emotional distress.
The couple married on October 24, 1998, and have two daughters, Rea and Raneya.
Financial Neglect Allegations Emerge in Divorce Petition
Mehnaz also alleged that Rana failed to fulfil his financial responsibilities toward the family.
Her petition stated that relatives made several attempts to improve the situation.
However, she claimed that these efforts were unsuccessful and that Rana refused to seek treatment.
Mehnaz informed the court that she no longer wished to continue the marriage.
Lahore Family Court Grants Divorce Decree
Advocate Khadija Siddiqui represented Mehnaz during the proceedings.
After hearing the arguments, Judge Zahid Bashir granted the divorce through khula, formally dissolving the marriage.
The allegations against Rana have not been independently verified.
Moammar Rana Previously Expressed Hope for Reconciliation
Earlier in October, the actor discussed his marriage during a podcast appearance.
He expressed his desire to preserve the relationship despite the difficulties.
However, the court’s latest decision has formally ended their marriage.
