ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration imposed a ban on shisha cafes in the capital city.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad directed all assistant commissioners to enforce the ban without exception across the city. The order applies even to shisha cafes holding valid no-objection certificates (NOCs).
Under the directive, cafes cannot operate shisha services at indoor or outdoor locations.
The administration warned that authorities would seal any establishment found violating the order.
Officials will also register criminal cases against owners who breach the ban, according to the district administration.
Daily inspections ordered
Meanwhile, assistant commissioners have received instructions to conduct daily inspections across their respective areas.
They must take action against violators without discrimination and ensure strict compliance with the administrative order.
The administration said the restrictions would remain effective until further orders.
Authorities have therefore placed all shisha cafes under heightened scrutiny, regardless of their existing permits or operating approvals.
The latest decision represents a strict administrative approach toward establishments offering shisha services in Islamabad.
Officials are expected to continue inspections and enforcement operations while the ban remains in effect.
