Several Trump-Linked TikTok Videos Lose Taylor Swift Audio
Several Taylor Swift songs have been removed from social media videos posted by US President Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House, renewing attention on the tense relationship between the global pop superstar and the president.
The audio disappeared from multiple Trump-related TikTok posts after the accounts repeatedly used Swift’s music in political content. Some affected videos now carry notices indicating that the music is unavailable because of a copyright claim or action by the copyright owner.
However, there is currently no public confirmation that Swift personally ordered the songs to be removed.
Neither Swift’s representatives nor the White House immediately provided an explanation for the removals.
One of the most prominent examples was a Team Trump TikTok video posted on August 3.
The clip used Swift’s song “August” while showing Trump and First Lady Melania Trump watching fireworks.
The accompanying message referenced the month of August and Trump’s presidency, while the caption directly mentioned Swift.
The audio has since disappeared from the post.
Another Trump campaign video posted on August 6 made political references to Swift’s album “Red” and several of her song titles.
That video has also had its audio removed.
Older material has been affected as well.
A November 2025 video that featured Swift’s “Father Figure” has also lost its audio, while ABC reported that other tracks, including “Opalite,” disappeared from Trump-related posts.
White House and Trump Campaign Have Repeatedly Used Swift’s Music
The latest removals follow several instances in which Trump’s political operation or the White House incorporated Swift’s music into official social media content.
In April, the White House published a video featuring members of NASA’s Artemis II crew meeting Trump.
The post used Swift’s “High Infidelity,” including a reference to the song’s well-known April 29 theme.
Another White House TikTok post previously featured “The Fate of Ophelia” from Swift’s 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl.
That video combined the music with images of the American flag, monuments and photographs of Trump.
Trump’s campaign also used other recent Swift music in videos promoting the president.
The repeated use of her catalogue has attracted attention because Swift has openly opposed Trump politically in previous elections.
The singer endorsed Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential campaign.
She also became increasingly outspoken on political issues during Trump’s first term in office.
Swift has largely avoided commenting directly on Trump during his current presidency.
That silence has made the sudden disappearance of her songs from political posts even more noticeable.
Trump-Swift Political Feud Returns to Spotlight
Trump and Swift have had a highly public political disagreement for years.
After Swift endorsed Harris in 2024, Trump responded with a hostile social media message saying he hated the singer.
He later continued criticising her publicly, including comments about her popularity.
Swift had also criticised Trump during the 2020 election campaign.
Her political involvement became more prominent after 2018, when she began publicly endorsing Democratic candidates and commenting on major political issues.
The latest controversy is also part of a wider dispute between musicians and political campaigns over the use of copyrighted songs.
Artists including Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande have previously objected to their music being associated with Trump or his administration.
Political campaigns can face complicated licensing issues when music is used in online videos.
Rights for a song may involve recording owners, publishers, songwriters and the rules of individual social media platforms.
For that reason, the disappearance of a track does not automatically prove that the artist personally requested its removal.
In Swift’s case, some videos now indicate copyright-related restrictions, but no public statement has confirmed who initiated the action.
The removals have nevertheless revived scrutiny of the unusual relationship between Trump’s political operation and an artist who has repeatedly opposed him politically.
For now, some of the posts remain online, but without the Taylor Swift soundtrack that originally helped attract attention to them.
