Most-wanted Lyari gang war commander Faisal Pathan was shot dead in Iran, but who killed him is yet unclear. Family members of Pathan were also inside the vehicle when the assassins attacked it. Attackers appeared to be expert killers, and they targeted only Faisal Pathan.
However, family members of Pathan remained unharmed during the attack.
Pathan belonged to Karachiโs Chakiwara area in Lyari. He previously maintained links with the Rehman Dacoit and Baba Ladla groups.
Criminal Record and Gang Links
Sources said Pathan later joined Uzair Balochโs group after the deaths of Rehman Dacoit and Baba Ladla.
He reportedly moved to Iran in 2013 during the Karachi operation. Police wanted him in several cases, including extortion, target killings, and kidnapping for ransom.
Moreover, Pathan allegedly continued operating a criminal gang while living in Iran. The Counter-Terrorism Department also included his name in its Red Book.
Police had also nominated Pathan in the Raja Arshad murder case. Therefore, his killing has renewed attention on Lyari gang members operating outside Pakistan.
Fear Spreads Among Gang War Figures
Following Pathanโs death, fear reportedly spread among other gang war figures hiding in Iran.
Several wanted criminals also went underground as police intensified operations against criminal networks.
Meanwhile, a large number of Pathanโs relatives gathered at his residence in Aansoo Goth, Malir, after receiving news of his death.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. Authorities have not publicly identified the attackers or disclosed a possible motive.
Pathanโs death marks another major development linked to Karachiโs long-running Lyari gang conflict.
