Meta-related social media platforms _ Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook are experiencing disruption, including slowdown, in Pakistan and elsewhere today due to maintenance of the network by the parent company, Meta.
The social media networks users in Pakistan reported disruptions from 1 am (an hour after midnight) to 1 pm on Thursday (December 11).
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has forewarned its customers about outage of social media networks of Meta. WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms faced disruptions at least for 12 hours due to Meta’s maintenance work.
Therefore, PTCL has informed its customers in advance to prepare them for this social media outage, starting from midnight tonight to 1pm on Thursday (Dec 11).
The PTCL has sent messages to its customers with the aim to inform them that outage of social media networks was not the fault of the PTCL network. Hence, it was an outcome of the maintenance of Meta’s network.
In Pakistan, millions of people are using social media platforms of Meta and other companies. They are relying too much on sharing information through the popular social media networks.
