The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested several suspects in separate operations targeting passport fraud, human smuggling and wanted criminals.
In Narowal, FIA officials raided a passport office and arrested three employees and four agents for allegedly collecting money from citizens. Meanwhile, the agency’s Anti-Human Smuggling Unit uncovered a suspected smuggling network in Lahore and arrested a wanted human smuggler.
In a separate operation, FIA Immigration officials detained a Red-Notice accused at Multan Airport and handed him over to Punjab Police.
FIA Raids Narowal Passport Office
The FIA conducted a raid at the Passport Office in Narowal after receiving information about alleged illegal money collection. Officials arrested three passport office employees and four agents during the operation.
According to investigators, the suspects were allegedly collecting money from innocent citizens in exchange for passport preparation services.
The FIA has launched further proceedings against those arrested as part of its investigation into the alleged malpractice.
Human Smuggler Arrested in Lahore
The FIA Anti-Human Smuggling Unit also dismantled a suspected human smuggling network during an operation in Lahore.
Officials arrested Javed Iqbal, a resident of Sabzazar, following credible information about his alleged involvement in human smuggling. The FIA raided a house in Sabzazar’s E-Block and recovered a large quantity of suspected evidence.
The seized items included 305 Pakistani passports, fake visa stickers from several countries and 100 CNICs belonging to different individuals.
Investigators also found that the arrested suspect was previously involved in FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Cell case number 551/20220.
Further investigation is underway to determine the network’s wider activities and identify other possible suspects.
FIA Arrests Red-Notice Accused at Multan Airport
Separately, the FIA Immigration Cell arrested a suspect wanted under an Interpol Red Notice at Multan Airport. The accused was wanted by Punjab Police in cases registered at police stations in Rajana, Toba Tek Singh.
The cases reportedly involve allegations under attempted murder provisions. FIA officials arrested the suspect after he arrived in Pakistan and subsequently handed him over to Punjab Police.
The latest operations highlight the FIA’s continued efforts against passport-related fraud, human smuggling and individuals wanted by law enforcement agencies.
