A family wedding journey turned into a tragic incident near Kot Addu after a loader rickshaw carrying 26 guests plunged into a canal. The accident occurred near Sanawan as the three-wheeler was transporting the passengers to a wedding ceremony. According to police, all passengers belonged to the same family.
Three people lost their lives in the incident, while rescue teams pulled 11 passengers out alive. However, 12 people, including women and children, remained missing as the search operation continued.
Rescue Teams Search for Missing Passengers
Rescue 1122 teams reached the location shortly after receiving information about the accident. Rescuers managed to retrieve 11 people from the canal. However, the search remained challenging as 12 passengers were still unaccounted for.
Four rescue vehicles were taking part in the operation. Teams were searching the canal and surrounding areas for the missing family members.

Driver Apparently Lost Control
District Police Officer Kot Addu Mansoor Qamar said the passengers were travelling together for a wedding ceremony. He said the group belonged to the same family. The passengers had been travelling in the loader rickshaw when the vehicle entered the canal.
According to the police officer, the driver apparently lost control of the three-wheeler. The exact circumstances surrounding the accident remained under investigation.
