MAKKAH/MADINAH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Madinah on Wednesday, where he offered prayers at Masjid an-Nabawi and paid respects at the Roza-e-Rasool.
During the visit, the premier also met with the Governor of Madinah and discussed matters of mutual interest, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Officials described the interaction as part of Islamabadโs broader diplomatic outreach in the region.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to travel to Doha later in the day, where he will hold important talks with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing economic cooperation, investment opportunities, and regional stability.
Furthermore, the visit comes at a time when Pakistan is actively engaging key regional partners to strengthen diplomatic and economic collaboration. The Doha meetings are also likely to cover energy cooperation and ongoing efforts to address regional challenges, including evolving geopolitical tensions.
Officials added that the prime ministerโs engagements in both Saudi Arabia and Qatar aim to reinforce strategic partnerships and explore avenues for increased bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
