More than 1,600 buildings were damaged, while at least 61 structures completely collapsed across affected areas.

Rescue operations continue across Colombia
The earthquake struck near San Josรฉ del Palmar in the Chocรณ region and affected cities including Cali, Pereira, Quibdรณ and Manizales.
Consequently, emergency teams and local residents have joined efforts to rescue people trapped beneath debris. Authorities also declared a national state of emergency to accelerate relief operations.
Meanwhile, several countries have expressed condolences over the deadly disaster and offered assistance.
The United States pledged financial support, while other countries offered rescue teams and humanitarian aid. International assistance is expected to support Colombiaโs ongoing emergency response.
Authorities have warned residents about possible aftershocks as rescue and recovery operations continue across the affected regions.
