Budget 5G smartphone features 120Hz display and fast charging ahead of India launch
NEW DELHI: vivo has introduced the T5 Lite, a new budget-friendly 5G smartphone featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, a 6,500mAh battery and a 120Hz display. The device will go on sale in India starting July 22.
The smartphone sports a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a claimed peak brightness of 1,200 nits. It measures 8.39mm thick, weighs 209 grams and carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. Additionally, the handset includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and is available in Twilight Shadow and Wave Blue colour options.
Performance and software
The vivo T5 Lite is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and is offered with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. Users can further expand storage through a microSD card of up to 1TB.
Meanwhile, the device runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and supports a range of connectivity options, including 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4 and GPS, making it suitable for modern mobile networking requirements.
Camera, battery and pricing
For photography, the smartphone features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 primary rear camera paired with a secondary sensor. On the front, it includes a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The device packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 44W wired fast charging, aiming to deliver extended usage with shorter charging times.
The vivo T5 Lite starts at $207 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 6GB RAM and 128GB variant is priced at $228, while the top-end 6GB RAM and 256GB storage version costs $260.
The new handset expands vivo’s budget smartphone portfolio by combining 5G connectivity, a high-refresh-rate display and a large battery at a competitive price point.
