Vanguard International has announced plans to establish Pakistanโs first state-of-the-art bulletproof glass factory. The facility will be built in Karachi.
A Vanguard Group delegation held a detailed meeting with officials from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). During the meeting, the company announced its investment decision.
The proposed factory will operate at the Industrial Park of Port Muhammad Bin Qasim. The project carries an estimated investment of Rs50 million.
Factory to Support Defence Requirements
The new facility will produce transparent armour for several security applications. These products will serve the armed forces, law-enforcement agencies, and other security institutions.
The project aims to strengthen Pakistanโs domestic defence manufacturing capabilities. It will also reduce dependence on imported protective glass and related products.
Furthermore, the factory will combine advanced international technology with specialised manufacturing expertise. Pakistani engineering professionals will also contribute to the production process.
Project Expected to Create 400 Jobs
The company expects the project to create employment opportunities for around 400 skilled workers. It will also support Pakistanโs efforts to conserve foreign exchange.
The facility could strengthen local manufacturing capacity in specialised defence products. Consequently, it may contribute to broader industrial development and defensive self-reliance.
The investment also highlights growing interest in Pakistanโs industrial sector. Authorities expect projects like this to support local production and attract further investment.
Vanguard Internationalโs planned facility represents a significant development for Pakistanโs security manufacturing industry. Production will focus on advanced transparent armour for critical applications.
