Robert Downey Jr. is making a strong impression on Marvel’s new generation of stars. Actress Vanessa Kirby praised his efforts to bring the cast together behind the scenes.
Downey, 61, will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday. He will portray the iconic villain Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom.
Kirby, 38, recently discussed working with the veteran actor during an appearance on The View. She described Downey as one of the kindest people she has ever met.
The actress also called him the “OG” as several newcomers join the Marvel franchise. According to Kirby, Downey has taken a personal approach to helping the new cast members bond.
Daily Lunches Help Cast Connect
Kirby revealed that Downey hosts special lunches for the cast every day. She said these gatherings allow actors to spend time together instead of preparing alone in their trailers.
She explained that the lunches help prevent cast members from feeling isolated during the demanding production. Moreover, she praised Downey’s approach as an effective way to lead a large group.
Kirby plays Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
She will return alongside Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in Avengers: Doomsday. The upcoming film will unite several MCU characters with members of the returning X-Men universe.
