WASHINGTON: A video showing Usha Vance, wife of US Vice President JD Vance, briefly losing her balance while stepping off a helicopter has gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred on October 5 at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where Usha was descending the aircraft’s stairs while carrying her nine-week-old son, Alec Neil Vance, in a baby carrier.
Footage shows Usha appearing to miss a step and stumble briefly while holding the railing. She quickly regained her balance and safely reached the ground without falling.
The moment attracted widespread attention online after the video circulated across social media platforms. Some viewers expressed concern after seeing the brief stumble, while others noted that Usha quickly recovered and ensured her baby was safe.
JD Vance later exited the helicopter carrying the couple’s four-year-old daughter, Mirabel.
The family was traveling to Anchorage, Alaska, where the vice president was scheduled to attend a Republican National Committee event. Vance had earlier said the trip would mark Alaska as Usha’s 50th US state.
