US television networks are set to resume coverage of President Donald Trump’s public events, CNN reported on Friday.
The move comes amid an ongoing legal dispute over media access to the White House.
CNN Returns to Trump Events
CNN said it would cover Trump’s visit to the National Archives on Friday.
Trump is scheduled to tour the complex with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The site houses important US founding documents, including the Constitution.
CNN reporter Kristen Holmes confirmed that pool coverage would resume.
Her comments came a day after CNN regained access to the White House grounds.
Court Challenge Forces Access Review
Trump had blocked CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House complex last week.
The administration accused the outlets of publishing false or negative coverage.
A federal judge later ruled that the restrictions were likely unconstitutional and ordered the outlets’ access restored.
CNN’s access was reinstated on Thursday.
TV Pool Coverage Set to Resume
The White House television press pool had suspended coverage in solidarity with CNN.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX News and NBC share the costs of covering presidential events. They also rotate responsibility for providing pool footage to other media outlets.
The suspension meant there had been no shared television coverage of Xi’s Washington visit.
CNN said coverage would resume on Friday, with CBS also scheduled to provide pool footage from the White House.
