The United States is sending additional troops and military aircraft to Israel in the coming weeks amid concerns over a possible escalation in the Middle East, Israeli media reported.
According to Israeli outlet Walla, around 3,000 US military personnel are already stationed across Israel. They operate air defence systems, support flight operations, provide logistical assistance and maintain liaison roles at military headquarters.
Although routine troop rotations have taken place recently, US defence officials reportedly confirmed that additional personnel and combat aircraft are expected to arrive soon. The reinforcements are intended to strengthen existing American military capabilities in the region.
A senior Israeli security official said regional adversaries are closely watching elections in Israel and the United States. The official claimed these actors are assessing ways to alter the regional balance without provoking a wider conflict.
Meanwhile, operational coordination between the Israel Defence Forces and US Central Command remains focused on potential retaliatory strikes against targets in Iran if Tehran launches new ballistic missile attacks.
The reported military buildup comes as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi continues diplomatic efforts. He has told foreign envoys that Tehran remains open to negotiations.
At the same time, Israeli officials remain concerned about fighting involving Yemen’s Houthi movement and its potential impact on Gulf security. They also pointed to growing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as regional tensions continue to rise.
