Visa and Consular Updates Paused on X Platform
The US Embassy in Pakistan has temporarily stopped regular visa and consular updates on X (formerly Twitter), citing budget delays and security concerns. In a post on the platform, the embassy stated that updates would be limited until full operations are restored.
Despite the pause, the embassy confirmed that urgent safety and security alerts will still be shared on X when necessary.
Embassy, Consulates Operating Normally Despite Changes
A US embassy spokesperson confirmed that visa and passport services in Islamabad and all consulates across Pakistan remain fully operational. However, adjustments may occur depending on future developments.
