In a security alert issued on March 1, the US mission in Pakistan stated that it was closely monitoring the situation. The alert highlighted ongoing protests near its facilities. It also warned of calls for further demonstrations outside the US Embassy in Islamabad and the consulate in Peshawar.
US government personnel in Pakistan were instructed to restrict their movements. The advisory remains in place until further notice.
