United States Congressmen Michael Baumgartner and Ryan Zinke have praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts during their visit to Islamabad. Moreover, they expressed confidence that Pakistan-United States relations continue strengthening through broader cooperation.
Congressmen Applaud Pakistan’s Diplomatic Engagement
Speaking to the media, Congressman Michael Baumgartner commended Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran. Additionally, he praised Pakistan’s humanitarian efforts concerning the situation in Gaza.
Baumgartner said Pakistan and the United States were enjoying stronger diplomatic engagement. He noted that expanding people-to-people exchanges and growing business ties were strengthening bilateral relations. Consequently, he said the partnership now extends beyond its traditional security focus.
Meanwhile, Congressman Ryan Zinke highlighted ongoing communication between US President Donald Trump, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He added that Pakistan-United States relations were currently at their strongest.
US Delegation Visits Punjab Safe City Authority
During the visit, the congressmen toured the Punjab Safe City Authority in Lahore. Managing Director Muhammad Ahsan Younas welcomed the delegation upon its arrival.
Furthermore, Muhammad Ahsan Younas and Chief Operating Officer Mustansar Feroz briefed the visitors on the authority’s responsibilities. They also outlined its operational capabilities and major achievements.
Officials presented details about the authority’s artificial intelligence-based surveillance systems and recent technological upgrades. They explained that thousands of advanced cameras monitor key locations throughout Punjab. Moreover, the authority works closely with police and other law enforcement agencies to enhance public safety.
The delegation also reviewed a system allowing citizens to report crimes and suspicious activities directly. Officials said the visit reflected continued efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and deepen institutional ties between Pakistan and the United States.
