Elite Force constable Gulfam lost his life during an earlier exchange of fire in the Shalkho Sar area.
Police said he was killed while performing his duties during the operation.
Several suspected militants were reportedly killed or injured during the earlier gun battle.
Security personnel surrounded the remaining suspects and restricted movement around the area.
Additional police and counterterrorism teams were deployed to strengthen the operation.
Authorities did not immediately release further details about the identities of the suspects.
