Flight Attendants
ISLAMABAD: In Canada, two Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendants, Khalid Afridi and Fida Shah, vanished after the airline’s Islamabad-to-Toronto flight, on Monday.
The PIA spokesperson stated that upon the flight’s scheduled return to Pakistan, the two crew members failed to appear in Toronto, leading the national flag carrier’s flight to proceed without them.

The PIA spokesperson also mentioned contacting the local Canadian authorities, and strict action will be taken against both individuals after completing the investigation. Several incidents have been reported of PIA air hostesses and cabin crew slipping abroad, raising concerns.
In July, a PIA steward went missing in Toronto, Canada, after arriving from Lahore, prompting an investigation by the airline management and Canadian immigration authorities. Prior to this incident, four flight stewards and air hostesses from PIA had reportedly entered Canada for citizenship.
Shahid Afridi Recommends Babar Azam as Captain for Australia Tour
Meanwhile,
Shahid Afridi advocated for Babar Azam to lead the team on the upcoming Australia tour, underscoring its importance. Afridi, while acknowledging Babar’s cricket prowess, expressed concerns about his performance during the World Cup, citing perceived issues in leadership.
Despite having high expectations for the team’s World Cup performance, Afridi pointed out the underwhelming results, attributing them to numerous mistakes. He emphasized the need for grassroots-level cricket development. Babar Azam’s captaincy came under scrutiny during the World Cup, particularly as Pakistan lost five out of nine games.
Although Azam remains the world’s second-highest-ranked batsman with almost 13,000 runs in all international cricket, questions arose regarding his leadership style, especially accusations of lacking aggression in field settings, particularly in matches held in India.
