WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has “total control” over Iran’s money amid the ongoing military conflict between the two countries.
In an interview with TV host Wayne Allyn Root, Trump described himself as Iran’s “banker.” He also claimed that Iran’s economy was facing severe inflation and a rapidly weakening currency.
Trump outlined three possible approaches toward Tehran. He said Washington could maintain current pressure, launch stronger military strikes or rely primarily on economic measures.
However, Trump said his main objective remained preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. He claimed US military action had stopped Tehran from acquiring one.
