WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump said he believes the war with Iran could end “pretty soon,” expressing confidence that the conflict may not continue much longer. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, according to Reuters.
Trump said he does not expect Iran to sustain the conflict for an extended period. “I think it’s going to end pretty soon. I don’t think they can go much longer,” he said while commenting on the ongoing war. Meanwhile, Trump also addressed questions about the United States’ weapons stockpiles. He said the US military maintains an almost unlimited supply of certain highly powerful munitions. At the same time, he acknowledged that inventories of some other weapons remain more limited.
“We have certain types of munitions that are very powerful, that we have virtually unlimited supply,” Trump said. “We have others where it’s a little bit tighter,” he added.
Furthermore, Trump did not specify which types of munitions face supply constraints or whether production is being increased.
