Elections
RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army’s top brass strongly criticized allegations of interference in the electoral process, deploring the accusations during the 263rd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at GHQ.
The military asserted that, at great peril to their primary responsibility, they provided a secure environment for the elections, emphasizing that they had no involvement in the electoral process.
Expressing dismay at the maligning of the Armed Forces with unsubstantiated allegations, the CCC condemned such actions as highly deplorable, especially from certain segments of the polity and media.
The commanders urged a shift in focus towards real issues such as good governance, economic recovery, political stability, and public well-being instead of scapegoating others for perceived failings.
While acknowledging the smooth democratic transition of power, the CCC called for a halt to baseless political rhetoric and emotional outbursts, emphasizing the need for due legal processes with evidence rather than unconstitutional claims.
The military’s commitment to democratic consolidation was reaffirmed, stressing that it believes in following the full spectrum of challenges and threats with the support of the resilient people of Pakistan.
The commanders emphasized continuing full support to the government in addressing security threats, socio-economic growth, and curbing illegal activities.
The CCC also pledged assistance in bringing perpetrators of the May 9 attacks to justice, condemning misinformation campaigns and urging unity. The COAS directed commanders to maintain high standards of professionalism and operational readiness.
The military expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Palestine, denouncing human rights violations in both regions. The CCC’s resolutions encompass a comprehensive range of national and international issues, outlining the military’s stance and commitment to various causes.
