ISLAMABAD: Three more soldiers were martyred in a suicide blast in North Waziristan on Wednesday evening.
Three civilians also sustained injuries when a vehicle-borne suicide bomber blew himself up in Miran Shah.
The suicide bomber intended to target the security forces check post, but the timely interception of the suicide bomber on suspicion by on-duty soldiers foiled catastrophe.
According to the ISPR, Naib Subedar Sahib Khan from Mianwali, Naik Muhammad Ibrahim from Dera Ismail Khan, and Sepoy Jehangir Khan from Mardan embraced Shahadat.
The security officials took prompt action and transported the martyred and injured individuals to Miranshah Hospital.
Meanwhile, the security forces have launched a search operation in the area to apprehend the terrorists responsible for this heinous act.
“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR added.
It is important to highlight that just three days ago, security forces in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out operations against those who threaten peace and stability.
During an intelligence-based operation in the Kalachi area, a fierce confrontation ensued between the security forces and terrorists.
The ISPR further stated that the security officials shot dead three terrorists during the exchange of fire.
A major among two soldiers martyred in Balochistan
Earlier, an attack took place in the Balor area of Hoshab district in Balochistan where terrorists ambushed a combat patrol of security forces. ISPR reported that two security personnel, including a Major, embraced martyrdom in the attack.

As per the ISPR’s statement, an operation was launched based on reliable intelligence indicating the movement of the terrorist groups. The terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces and civilians, as well as the planting of explosive devices in the region.
“While [the] establishment of blocking positions to cut the escape routes was underway, a group of terrorists ambushed a patrolling vehicle of security officials and opened fire onto security forces.”
The ISPR reported that the exchange of heavy fire led to the martyrdom of two security personnel including Major Saqib Hussain and Naik Baqir Ali, while other soldiers sustained injuries.
“Security Forces remain determined to thwart such attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan,” the military’s media wing said.
