Three people, including two brothers, died after falling into a dirty water well in Chishtian on Wednesday. The incident occurred while they were trying to rescue a goat.
The tragedy took place late at night in village 28-Gajiani. Rescue officials said the victims lost consciousness after inhaling toxic gas inside the well.
Rescue Attempt Ends in Tragedy
According to initial reports, the victims entered the well one after another during the rescue attempt. However, all three were overcome by poisonous gases.
The deceased were identified as 22-year-old Mohammad Akbar, 30-year-old Zain Ali, and Mohammad Ali. Authorities confirmed that all three died at the scene.
Soon after receiving the emergency call, Rescue 1122 teams reached the village. They recovered the bodies from the well and shifted them to a nearby hospital.
Bodies Handed Over to Families
After completing the necessary procedures, Rescue 1122 handed the bodies over to the victims’ families. Officials have not reported any additional casualties.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Meanwhile, residents have been urged to exercise caution around abandoned and contaminated wells.
