According to the media reports, it is predicted that Pakistanis will undergo 30 fasting periods during the current Ramadan month.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has refuted claims of issuing any predictions concerning the potential date for Eidul Fitr within the nation.
In an exclusive interview, the Met Office clarified that they were not responsible for predicting Eidul Fitr dates, as mentioned in several media reports. These reports suggested that Eidul Fitr might fall on April 11, based on their forecasts.
As a result, Pakistanis have been fasting for 30 days during Ramadan, which started on March 12. The exact date of Eidul Fitr celebrations will be confirmed by the sighting of the Shawwal moon, expected on April 10. A Met Office official in Islamabad emphasized that their role is limited to weather forecasts, and moon sightings are announced by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The Cabinet Division had previously released a list of holidays for the current year in December.
According to the UAE predictions, Pakistani citizens are likely to enjoy five consecutive days off from the 10th to the 14th of April (Wednesday to Sunday), as the celebration will span across the weekend.
Spanning five continuous days, the festive season presents a valuable chance for people nationwide to unwind and contemplate their thoughts.
Eid holidays in UAE
Residents in the UAE are preparing for a possible extended vacation during Eidul Fitr, with the potential for up to nine days off in April. The start of Ramazan was confirmed on March 10 due to the sighting of the crescent moon in the UAE, with March 11 being declared the first day of the holy month.
The length of Ramazan, either 29 or 30 days, will influence the timing of Eidul Fitr. According to the UAE government’s holiday plan, people can expect a break from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3, celebrating Eidul Fitr. If Ramazan spans 30 days, Eid will be on April 10, offering a nine-day holiday from April 8 to April 12, including weekends.
