Explosive-Laden Vehicle Targets Joint Security Post
Fifteen people were martyred in a terrorist attack on a joint police checkpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district.
The casualties included 12 military personnel, two police officers, and a former Forest Department official.
The attack took place early on Friday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.
ISPR said the attackers attempted to breach the security perimeter of the checkpost.
Security personnel immediately responded and prevented the assailants from entering the facility.
During the confrontation, the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall.
The powerful explosion caused major damage to the checkpost’s infrastructure.
The blast resulted in the deaths of 15 personnel and officials serving at the post.

ISPR said troops engaged the attackers as they attempted to flee the area.

The military identified the attackers as members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
ISPR uses the term Fitna-al-Khawarij for members of the outlawed group.
The military said the security personnel displayed courage and professional skill while defending the checkpost.
Their response prevented the attackers from achieving their objective.
A clearance operation was launched after the assault.
Security forces began searching the surrounding area for any remaining attackers or facilitators.
Authorities were also expected to collect evidence from the damaged checkpost and the attackers’ vehicle.
ISPR said counterterrorism operations would continue under the Azm-i-Istehkam campaign.
The military maintained that such attacks would not weaken Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorism.
